April 20, 2013, the Union of Russian emigrants in Greece im.kn.Demidovoy together with members of the "Club 50 +" worked for restoration of the Russian Navy cemetery, located in Piraeus. This year's event was attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Greece, as well as other organizations, including the Society "Emigrant".
Thanks to the efforts of the founder of the Union, historian I.Zhalnina-Vasilkioti Russian Navy necropolis, created by order of the Queen of Greece Olga K. Romanova (1851-1926) and destroyed during the "black colonels" government in the 70s, already is partly restored. We took care of the graves of Russian sailors and soldiers who died in the 18-20 centuries for the freedom and independence of Greece and memorial services resumed church services.
