Riga. The journalists of newspaper ‘CHAS’ did meet their readers on 18th of April at the library of N. Zadornov. The meeting had its own theme: it has been organized within European education program for adults Grundtvig and ‘Chas’ did received the grand in its participation. The project ‘The steps towards European citizenship’, the volunteers are taking part ‘Life after 50’.

The first deputy in chief of ‘Chas’ Valeriy Zaitsev has recently returned back from Finland where he took a part in seminar within Gruntvig program, and did highlighted readers about project’s development and the elderly people’s live level in Finland.

In Finland, there is a center that supports Russian inhabitants of Finland that helps emigrants to adapt to the new language and social environment. As well as that there is also Educational center for adults that offers language courses and many other different coteries for different interests.

The project’s coordinator in Latvia Tatyana Andrianova told the audience about the aim of European program where publishing house ‘PETITS’ is taking a part.

(general insert) – Our partners – 6 countries of European Union: Greece, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Great Britain and Belgium. Worth to say that Russian speaking organizations do take part in this projects – we are very interested how our fellow nationals live abroad!

Of course ‘Chas’ readers did ask many questions and expressed many offers. One of them was: we have to meet more often. With journalists. With each other. We do support this initiative and will start thinking how to realize it now.
