A seminar on judicial, economic and social issues of immigrants in Greece took place on April 1st 2012 at the facilities of the philological society “Parnassos.”
The attendants’ questions were answered by Ms Tatiana Rab, writer of the column “You ask-we answer” of the newspaper “Express Kinisi.” Ms Rab was literally overwhelmed by the amounts of matter-of-life-and-death questions about applying and paying for immigrants’ insurance and other topics. A variety of topics were discussed, including issues faced by almost everyone in the room, and unique situations.
Greece is currently having quite a few of its systems reformed. The changes have affected medical aid, pensions but also regulations that have to do with immigrants. As the reforms are taking place now, immigrants often receive confusing and often contradicting information from the government offices they turn to.
Tatiana Grigorieva Fiodorova--an active participant of the “Club 50+” was present at the seminar. Having acquired a lot of information through research and personal experience, Ms Fiodorova complemented Ms Rab’s work by providing practical advice in dealing with immigrant issues.
